What is Chrysler SKIM Security
For those that don't know what that is, SKIM (SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE) is the security system of the vehicle. The SKIM is its own module, but the ECM looks for a pass or go message that occurs from the SKIM system which is why the industry standard seems to the ECM SKIM reset (Basically ECM security reset).
This listing is a service only for vehicles from 1996 - 2007 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee/Durango/Caravan engine computer reprogramming service WITH SKIM.
This service is necessary when installing used PCM's to ensure compatibility with your existing key(s) and module(s). Failure to follow the proper reprogramming sequence when installing a used PCM will cause problems, up to and including a no start condition
Replacement ECU must have the same part number as the replacement. The part # and the service # must match. If questions arise regarding the part number you may want to contact the dealer for the correct number. WE GUARANTEE OUR SERVICE NOT OPERATION OF MODULE.
When we return your PCM, the SKIM Module and/or immobilizer MUST be disconnected from the vehicle before PCM installation. Failure to disconnect the SKIM module will reactivate the security feature on the PCM.
